Internal Medicine Specialty<\/strong>-Internal medicine or general medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases.\u00a0This is Dr. Kene Anamekwe\u2019s primary specialty and Vivify Wellness Center should be your first port of call for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of your medical problems.<\/p>\n

Primary Care Services<\/strong>-This is health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance, counseling, patient education, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses which is the heart of internal medicine specialty and Dr. Kene Anamekwe is devoted to helping her patient\u2019s achieve their individual goals of improved health.<\/p>\n

Preventive Medicine<\/strong>– Preventive healthcare\u00a0(alternately\u00a0preventive medicine\u00a0or\u00a0prophylaxis) consists of measures taken for disease prevention, as opposed to disease treatment. With core wellness being a priority of Dr. Kene Anamekwe, she takes preventive care to a higher level while encouraging her patient to adopt healthier and active life style.<\/p>\n

Well Woman Exam (Pap smear) <\/strong>– A\u00a0well woman examination<\/em>\u00a0is an\u00a0exam<\/em>\u00a0offered to\u00a0women<\/em>\u00a0to review elements of their reproductive health. It is recommended once a year for most\u00a0women<\/em>. The\u00a0exam<\/em>\u00a0includes a breast\u00a0examination<\/em>, a pelvic\u00a0examination<\/em>\u00a0and a pap smear but may also include other procedures. Diabetes Mellitus<\/strong>–Diabetes<\/em>\u00a0mellitus (DM), commonly referred to as\u00a0diabetes<\/em>, is a group of metabolic disorders in which there are high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period. Dr. Kene Anamekwe will offer necessary medications but most importantly educates her patient on how to make dietary changes that best benefits their disease and hence slow down progression there by preventing complications of the disease.<\/p>\n

High Blood Pressure<\/strong>–High blood pressure<\/em>\u00a0is a common disease in which\u00a0blood<\/em>\u00a0flows through\u00a0blood<\/em>\u00a0vessels (arteries) at higher than normal pressure. Many suffers go undetected because they may not have symptoms. Dr. Kene Anamekwe uses medication and life style intervention to help her patients lower their blood pressure and avoid irreversible complications like stroke, kidney and heart failure.<\/p>\n

High Cholesterol<\/strong>-The body uses cholesterol to produce many hormones,vitamin D, and the bile acids that help to digest fat. It takes only a small amount of cholesterol in the blood to meet these needs. Anemia<\/strong>–Anemia<\/em>\u00a0is a condition that develops when your blood lacks enough healthy red blood cells or hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is a main part of red blood cells and binds oxygen. If you have too few or abnormal red blood cells, or your hemoglobin is abnormal or low, the cells in your body will not get enough oxygen resulting in one feeling weak, fatigue and dizzy. Pre-Op Clearance<\/strong>– The goal of the preoperative clearance (Preoperative medical assessment) is to assess the patient’s general medical condition in order to identify any unrecognized co-morbid diseases and optimize the patient’s state for the planned surgical procedure. The preoperative medical assessment helps the doctors to decide if the patient is suitable for the proposed surgery according to the patient’s risk category, also it helps them to identify the factors that may reduce the patient’s risk for complications and provide the best possible recommendations for the post-operative care. We provide acute and chronic disease management, diagnostic and preventive care in late adolescents and adults. Our medical services include primary care service, medication management, preventive care and chronic disease management.<\/p>\n

Making an appointment is easy. You can request an appointment online. Appointment times vary depending on if you are a new or established patient and may range from 20 minutes to 60 minutes. We ask that every new patient bring their bottle of medication to the first appointment. If you are unable to keep your appointment please cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
